do I join Northampton United Lodge of Instruction?
You
can email us your information
or simply turn up at a meeting. All local MM have an open invitation -
we will need to be able to confirm your eligibility but we have members
from most of the local lodges in regular attendance so this should not
be difficult.
Do you wear regalia
at Northampton United Lodge of Instruction?
No, we wear our regular street clothes.
Does Northampton
United Lodge of Instruction meet during the summer?
Yes.
We meet right the way throughout the year. This gives our members an opportunity
to prepare for their upcoming offices in the new masonic year.
Are there regular
officers at Northampton United Lodge of Instruction?
Other
than the preceptors, no. All the roles are open to all members according
to their own desires and ability. Most members work one office ahead of
their current position but if you put the effort in to learning you can
try any office.
Why doesn't Northampton
United Lodge of Instruction meet on the first Tuesday of the month?
The
first Tuesday of the month is taken by Northampton CHAPTER of Instruction
How much does Northampton
United Lodge of Instruction cost?
Membership
is £2/year. We collect alms but we do not have a festive board.
Can I come along
if I'm not a MM yet?
Afraid
not. We cover all the ceremonies and the links and difference at the various
stages are explained and discussed, which we can't really do unless everyone
present is a MM.
How are particular
offices allocated?
First
refusal is given to attendees at the previous meeting. This is simply a
matter of fairness and sometimes we will decide to do a specific ceremony
depending on the wishes of the brethren in attendance.
