A warm and fraternal welcome to to the website of the Northampton United Lodge of Instruction. Membership is open to all Master Masons from local lodges. If that includes you then this site is intended to answer the questions that you may have about the United LoI in Northampton and hopefully to encourage you to come along.

Every week we go through a particular ceremony; with members learning new roles, rehearsing for their lodge offices, discussing meanings and picking up tips from our friendly team of experienced preceptors. It is also a great way to meet people from other lodges at a similar level to yourself.

Meetings are held on Tuesdays each month - starting at 7.30pm, except the first Tuesday of each month - from October to May. Meetings are held in one of the lodge rooms at Sheaf Close and membership costs just £2 a year. Attendance at every meeting is not mandatory for members - we collect alms but we do not have a festive board.

For more info see our FAQs or email us.

HOW TO GET A ROLE AT A MEETING

As a simple matter of courtesy the roles for each ceremony are allocated one meeting ahead. on a first-come-first-served basis. Generally we go through the ceremonies in order each month but we may change that if the brethren present agree they want to do a specific piece of work. We do not have fixed positions in the lodge, everyone gets to work on different roles but you may not get to do what you want if you only turn up to a single meeting.

Rough meeting structure each month

Week 1 - no meeting
Week 2 - first degree
Week 3 - second degree
Week 4 - special (if applicable).
